More than 40 students from across the State of Minnesota underwent this training and received their Police Training & Education Skills Certificate.  

Unique to this class was the participation of five (5) students who were a part of the Intensive Comprehensive Peace Officer Education and Training (ICPOET) program. These students had already been hired by departments and sent through this training, with help of a State of Minnesota grant. 

This year’s recognition ceremony for the Police Training - Skills graduates was held on Thursday, July 10th.   

 In addition to students from Alexandria College, this year we welcomed students from: 

ICPOET students represented the Moorhead Police Department, Stearns County Sheriff's Department and the Waite Park Police Department. 

Guest Speakers for the recognition ceremony: 

• Scott Kent, Chief of Police, Alexandria Police Department. 
• Lynn Arnquist, ICPOET Grant Coordinator, Alexandria Technical and ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥  

Certificates of Recognition were presented to the following students: 

• Aaron Broer, ICPOET student from the Moorhead Police Department, earned the Physical Testing recognition certificate with a score of 98% 

•  Joseph Baron, St Peter, MN, and Garrick Sharp, Audubon, MN, both earned the Firearms recognition certificate with a score of 98%. This is the first time in recent history that two students have tied with such high marks.
